The PlayStation 4 console is set to release November 15th in the US and now has a official release date of February 22nd, 2014 for its release in Japan.
Now in the past most consoles are released in Japan first or at the same time worldwide, but this time Sony doesn’t want to disappoint holiday gamers by not having enough consoles so they will solely worry about their biggest markets first. The PlayStation 4 will be also released in Europe November 29th. The issue in the past was the fact that Sony never felt like they met consumers demand with the proper supply needed for total satisfaction, but they won’t let that happen this time around.
“We had a tough experience of supply not meeting demand at an early stage of introduction for PS2 and PS3,” House said. “This time, we want to avoid that happening again. We want to launch it when we can meet the volume.”

The PlayStation 4 is estimated to sell over 3 Million units worldwide this year.
